A.C.W. Zouaves

Dated: February 4, 1999.

The following are some more zouave conversions from Mr. David Hennen. The conversions are stock HäT zouaves plus backpacks from other 1/72 scale ACW infantry figures. The mode of attachment is the same. Mr. Hennen notes: "All accoutrements were preserved attached to the backpacks. Leaving the canteens, ammo pouches, and haversacks attached with the backpack (rather than the man) means the customer can detach (cut-off) as few or as many of the accoutrements to suit their individual tastes, or just to give the set some variety. Note the details carefully because there are actually two different kinds of backpack sets. I am hopeful that the HäT designers will round-table discuss this idea as a future possibility."

The first scan are HäT's blue zouaves with red backpacks, these are patterned after the colors of Duryee's Union Zouaves.

The next shows HäT's greys zouaves with butternut backpacks, these are patterned after the colors of Confederate Tiger Zouaves.

For those customers who don't paint their figures, these conversions make for very colorful units and can be used to customize their armies. Again, many thanks to Mr. Hennen for his excellent conversions.
